Delete Products

This section explains how to delete, deactivate, or restore products in BoothPoint. Products include dances, drinks, food, memberships, fines, stage shows, and other items available for sale.

🧭 Accessing Product Management

 

📂 Navigation

  1. Open the Back Office

  2. Go to Manage → Products

  3. On the left panel, under General Function, tap or click Delete Product

🔎 Finding Products to Delete

🧩 Search

Use the search box on the left to find the product you want to delete. Search includes description, product type, and price.

👥 Selecting Multiple Products

  • Hold CTRL and click each product to select

  • Click again to deselect

  • Selected products will be highlighted

🗑️ Deleting Products

🧍‍♀️ Delete a Single Product

  • Open the product by double‑clicking or pressing Return

  • Tap or click Delete at the top of the form

👥 Delete Multiple Products

  • Select the products using CTRL

  • On the left, tap or click Delete Product(s)

⚠️ Confirmation Message

A message will appear:

Are you sure you want to delete the selected products (6)?

The number in brackets shows how many products are selected. Select Yes to proceed or No to cancel.

 

Note

Products are not permanently deleted. They are moved to the Recycle Bin and can be restored at any time.

 

Tip

To deactivate products instead of deleting them:

 

  • Select the products

  • Tap or click De‑Activate Product(s)

 

This removes them from active lists without placing them in the Recycle Bin.

 

 

♻️ Restoring Products

If a product was deleted by mistake or needs to be reactivated, you can restore it easily.

 

🔄 Accessing the Recycle Bin

🧭 Navigation

  1. At the top of the product list, tap or click the Recycle Bin tab

  2. Use CTRL‑click to select one or more products to restore

  1. Select the product(s) in the Recycle Bin

  2. On the left, under General Function, tap or click Restore Product(s)

⚠️ Confirmation Message

A message will appear:

Are you sure you want to restore the selected products (6)?

Select Yes to restore or No to cancel.

 

Tip

Use Deactivate for seasonal or temporary items — this keeps them hidden from the POS but ready to reactivate later.

 

Best Practice

Regularly review your product list to remove discontinued items and keep your POS system organised. Restoring deleted products is quick and ensures nothing is lost permanently.
