Adding & Editing Products

This section explains how to add or edit products in BoothPoint. Products include dances, drinks, food, memberships, petty cash, fines, and more.

 

đź§­ Accessing Product Management

đź“‚ Navigation

  1. Open the Back Office

  2. Go to Manage → Products

  3. On the left panel, choose one of the following:

    • Add New Product

    • Add New Dance Product

    • Add New Drink Product

    • Add New Food Product

    • Add New Membership

    • Add New Fine

    • Add New Stage Show

    • Add New Shop Product

    • Add New House Fee

    • Add New Petty Cash

    • Add New Other Income

    • Add New Other Outgoing

 

Each option opens a product‑specific form with fields and tabs relevant to that product type.

📝 Editing an Existing Product

🔎 Searching for a Product

        

 

  • Use the search box on the left to find a product
    (Search includes description, product type, and price)

  • Double‑click or press Return to open the product details

đź§ľ Product Tabs and Fields

🗂️ Overview Tab

This tab contains the main product information:

 

  • Description

  • Sales Price (inc Tax)

  • Tax Code and Tax Value

  • Sales Price (ex Tax)

  • Product Notes

 

Depending on the product type, additional fields may appear:

 

  • Cost Price and Markup % (for Drinks, Food, Shop Products)

  • Pay 100% House Fee Upfront and Fine (if not paid) (for House Fee)

  • Taxi Payout (for Door Entry)

  • Category and Modifier Group (for Drinks, Food, Shop Products)

đź’° Commission Tab

Used for products that involve dancer or club commission (e.g., Dances, Stage Shows, Funny Money, Tipping Dollar):

 

  • Dancer’s Commission

  • Club Extras

  • Club Commission

  • Auto Calc / Auto Calc % buttons

  • Adjust Price Settings and Dancer Timer Settings (for timed dances)

🪪 Membership Pricing Tab

Used for products that have variable pricing based on membership level:

 

  • Enable Multi‑Price on Memberships

  • Auto Fill / Auto Calc Multi‑Price buttons

🧾 Inventory Tab

Appears on Drinks, Food, and Shop Products:

 

  • In Stock Qty

  • Trigger Qty

  • Reorder Level

 

When stock falls below the trigger quantity, BoothPoint will prompt a reorder.

🎟️ Membership Tab

Used for Membership Products:

 

  • Additional Guests

  • Subscription (months, 0 = no subscription)

 

⚙️ Product Options

🧩 Options Panel

Each product includes configurable options:

 

  • Active

  • Show on Weekly Venue

  • Apply Surcharge

  • Max Quantity (if applicable)

📅 Show on Days

Choose which days the product can be sold:

 

  • Monday → Sunday check-boxes

  • All / None buttons for quick selection

 

💾 Saving Products

 

✔️ Save Options

  • Save & Close — saves the product and returns to the list

  • Save & New — saves the product and clears the form for adding another

 

Tip

In Options → Mandatory Fields, you can define which fields must be completed before saving is allowed.

 

Use consistent naming for products to make searching and reporting easier. For example: “Captain $150 Dance” or “VIP Entry Saturday”.
